Funky Upbeat Designs is where upcycling meets musical artistry! We are Darren & Leigh, a husband and wife team based in Markham, Ontario, Canada creating unique, functional and one of a kind decor, art and furniture designs made from previously loved, usually no longer playable musical instruments. Every design is handcrafted with care and creativity and is transformed by us in our workshop. We take the utmost pride in every drum or guitar design we make from it’s original, previously loved and often damaged condition to completely repurposing it into an amazing work of art! We are known for our innovative designs, excellent craftsmanship and amazing customer service.
Funky Upbeat Designs started back in August 2018 with an idea that came to us literally out of the blue, along with Darren being a life long drummer. We purchased one drum kit, did several modifications, posted it to social media, asked opinions of family and friends and the response and feedback was unbelievable!
At that point, we knew we were on to something amazing.
Here we are 6 years later, recognized across the globe, growing, learning and improving each day and the community we have created has been incredible! We are always striving to create new and exciting products for our customers and community whose constant support for our business makes it all possible!
Funky Upbeat Designs has turned out to be more than we ever anticipated, in the best possible way and
we truly love what we do!
We offer a wide range of functional, stylish, upcycled designs that set us apart. Our product line includes handcrafted drum wall shelves, drum tables, drum clocks, miniature drum stages, drum & guitar bluetooth speakers, drum mirrors, guitar shelves, drum lighting and chandeliers, drum planters and custom orders designs are always welcome! We aim to use reclaimed, upcycled and sustainably made materials where possible in all of our designs.
Our upcycled designs make amazing decor pieces, unique, personalized gifts, cherished keepsakes or even a one of a kind custom design for your home, business or special event– the options are endless!
